Ponchos and Bluffoons

 May 26, 2015
Bluff, Utah

Well everyone it is official, I am a true Bluffoon, or so someone told me this week. Elder Middleton is my new companion here in Bluff and we have been having a stellar time! Elder Middleton is from Sacramento California and he is 6'5", we are quite the sight to see walking around on the Reservation. This was the slowest week of the mission so far (number-wise) we had 4 lessons, but it was a very productive week. Most of our appointments cancelled on us and we were able to reschedule, but we were also able to meet a few very promising new people. There are some incredible people that we were able to meet here, I can't wait to see how they progress. There were some down sides to this week too, one of the Recent Converts here, Wilbur, has gone back to his Medicine Man ways and has stopped coming to church. Now let me make this clear for everyone who is reading, the Navajo have a wonderfully beautiful culture but as the scriptures tell us "no mad can serve two masters" they cannot float between 2 beliefs hoping that one of them is right and that when the time comes they will be able to choose one and be right, you must make you r decision now and know that it is the right one. Yesterday we went on an amazing hike. It is about a mile and a half down a canyon then you see some of the best ruins in the Navajo Nation, Poncho House. These ruins are very old and we couldn't get too close because they were fenced off and because we are missionaries we can't break the law so we looked from afar. Well that's it for this week.

Love, Elder Warnick
